The French group CMA CGM has legalized its cooperation agreement with Godilco, a Uruguayan logistics company, through its subsidiary CMA CGM Log which was created in 2001. The pact is for 24 months and can be renewed.
The deal includes the service of a bonded warehousing offering local distribution solutions. The French liner shipping company CMA CGM, which is already present in Uruguay through its office in Montevideo and its five direct lines calling the city's port, wants to develop complementary logistics expertise in that country.
Mathieu Friedberg, CMA CGM's vice-president freight forwarding and logistics activities, said, "the partnership with Godilco is a decisive step in my group’s development in Latin America. CMA CGM Log has been operating in Brazil since 2013, and is now pursuing its development by opening new offices in Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Chile and Bolivia. We see South America as a high potential area."
