A newly renovated terminal has been reopened in the eastern part of Montreal. The facility is operated by the company Mtl Link Multimodal Solutions, which invested CAD 12 million in the refurbishment.
The overhaul encompassed new paving to allow the handling of larger shipments and more diversified cargo. The terminal already processes project cargo, bulk and general cargo such as steel, forest products, granite, and concentrates. In addition to five truck docks, the terminal’s rail spur, located along the warehouse, has two tracks.
The overhaul was mainly meant "to help support regional growth in the container sector and to bridge maritime transport with on-the-ground distribution,” said Madeleine Paquin, president and CEO of Logistec Corporation. With a presence in 30 ports and terminals in eastern North America, Mtl Link’s parent company Logistec specializes in handling all types of dry cargo.
