The "SCI Mumbai" made her maiden call in Le Havre (France) on 18 August. The vessel is operated by SCI, a prominent Indian shipping company that was established in 1961. The company began to market a direct weekly containerized cargo service to Haropa - Port of Le Havre (France) in early July.
The sling provides direct connections from Colombo (33 days to Le Havre/21 days from Le Havre), Nhava Sheva (28 days to Le Havre/27 days from Le Havre) and Mundra (26 days to Le Havre/29 days from Le Havre).
In addition to its direct services, SCI also offers connections to Kolkata, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Cochin, Tuticorin, Haldia, Chittagong, Karachi, Bangalore and New Delhi, among other ports.
The new service, which deploys eight vessels with an average capacity of 7,200 teu per unit, will call every Saturday at Le Havre’s Port 2000 terminal. SCI has had CLB Liner (ex. Charles Le Borgne) as its agent in France since 1982.
