A long-term collaboration project to cut joint CO2 emissions by 30% by 2020 has been initiated by the Swedish logistics company Greencarrier Freight Service and the shipping company CMA CGM Scandinavia. The lighter carbon footprint is to be achieved by developing new and sustainable logistics solutions.
One such joint solution involves sea transport to Gothenburg and onforwarding to Torsvik (both Sweden), where trucks have now been replaced by rail transport. This change has resulted in a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions.
On an annual basis, at least two new sustainable logistics solutions will be developed in order to replace traditional solutions and reduce their environmental impact.
