A new logistics service provider has been established. Trading under the name Contenta, the firm was founded by Esüdro, a chemist shop wholesaler that has been active since 1909 and is based in Hockenheim (Germany).
The drugstore supplier decided to outsource its logistics services division in reaction to the change in demand ensuing from the growing e-commerce market. The contract logistics provider Contenta is investing in new logistics personnel and cutting edge warehouse technology. The firm says its core competence is logistics and it is therefore banking on obtaining business from the engineering and plant construction sectors, as well as from the pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, trade and food domains.
Contenta's 12,000 sqm multi-user storage facility has a warehouse management system for numerous clients and offers 11,000 storage slots. Hockenheim is a favourable location as it is close to the industrial cities of Mannheim and Karlsruhe, and has direct access to three motorways.
